vintage shopping

I stopped by my local [and favorite] antique store yesterday to see if I could find a few props for photographing my new shop products.  I came away with a few goodies ...

A perfect cake stand, a wire paper holder, a mini chalkboard [from 1917!] + a fab red metal schoolhouse table [going back to pick that one up].  I originally went looking for a vintage camera but was happy with what I scored.

As for the photography goes, it needs some work ... but I'm definitely enjoying this process.

shop updated

I finally updated my much neglected shop with a few goodies ... I've been so busy working on custom projects -- it felt really good to get back in the Etsy swing of things.  I had forgotten how much I enjoy making things for my little shop!  I added my first round of letterpress goods + a few vintage goodies.  I'll be throwing in those pencils as a little thanks [while supplies last ;].

I discovered the photography of Angie Cao via Bliss [one of my new favorite blogs] + instantly fell in love with her style ... I've always been interested in photography but ever since I started blogging + got my new camera, I can't get enough!  So, I love finding inspiring photographers like Angie Cao. 

On another note, its a very happy day for me today.  I finally found a printing press!  Ever since my letterpress class, I've been searching high + low + scouring the internet.  I finally found + purchased the perfect one this morning.  Now, my sister + I are driving to Chicago next weekend to pick it up.  Crazy, I know.   Really crazy, actually.  But I'm beyond excited.

I added few things to my little shop, including limited edition push pins...
I'm trying the limited edition route just for fun + mostly because I like to have a little variety of what I make.  We'll see how it goes! :]

catching up

Slowly but surely I'm catching up on everything.  Here are a few custom orders I've been trying to finish up ...
I made a bunch custom cards [similar to these].  Also finished custom push pins as favors for a baby shower.   Yay!  A few more orders + I'm all caught up + will focus on a little shop update.  Thanks, everyone, for your patience. 

back in business

Its been a long two weeks with all my computer issues.   I ended up losing all my files [which I mourned over for a good few days] + ultimately ended up getting a new computer [which is totally awesome, btw].  I'm slowly getting back up to speed + it feels great.  Also a huge thanks to those who are waiting on custom orders.  I so appreciate your patience!

shop update

I've been working on a few things + will update my little shop [which has been sadly neglected this past month] with a few things ... 

I've got more chalkboard tags lined up as well as little note cards. I'm bringing back the library card but this time made them into birthday day + father's day cards.  And a few other goodies.  Hope to get them up in the next day or so.

I'm still trying to figure out the white balance on my slr.  If anyone has tips on shooting light colors/whites on a white background, I more than welcome them!

packaging, anyone?

Anyone by chance need any packaging? 

I'm trying to make some space in my studio + wanted to see if anyone would like to buy packaging on the cheap.  I've got loads of:

- bubble lined mailers [5x10 and 7 1/2 x12]
- corrugated box/mailers [about 6x5x2 1/2]

Either I have excess or other types  of packaging is working better for me.  If interested, shoot me an email or leave a comment here + I'll respond with pricing info.  :]
