a good but tiring weekend

We had a fun [but very tiring] weekend in Philly.  Weather was great + husb finished his 100-mile ride ...Philly livestrong
Little one was fascinated by all the bikes.  Also, as always, carried around a train.  [right photo is water to stay cool - not sweat :].  Thanks for all the Philly recommendations -- unfortunately we weren't able to make any fun stops.  Our weekend was consumed with bike stuff + napping schedules!

philly recommendations?

We're headed to Philadelphia this weekend.  Husb is cycling in the LiveStrong Challenge [100-miles!] for the second time.  Little one + I are going to cheer him on ...

I don't suspect we'll have much down time.  But in case we do, does anyone have recommendations for places to visit in Philly?  I can usually make time for a cute shop and/or bakery [especially if cupcakes are involved :].

perfect summer sandwich

Ever since I saw Mary's tomato + Jane's sandwich, I've been seriously wanting tomatoes.  And after a trip to the farmer's market yesterday, I fulfilled my craving + had what I consider the perfect summer sandwich...Tomato
Exactly like Jane's BLT but I swapped out basil for the "L".  Little one wasn't liking the tomato so much though.

Happy Friday + hope some perfect summer sandwiches are in your near future! :]

american eagle

Its 90-100 degrees [!] here which has kept us indoors most of that last few days.  Today we ventured to the mall so Ike could run around + blow off some steam.   We walked by American Eagle + a few things caught my eye so we wandered on in ...

I've never been in that store but admittedly there were a few cute things.  I love my long cardigans, so I think I'll keep my eye their cute one + scoop it up once it goes on sale.

over stimulated

I feel like this week in particular there were soo many pretty things in blogland.  It was to the point where I was over stimulated + couldn't quite appreciate it all [is that strange or does that happen to you?].  So, today, I'm taking a blog break + just leaving you with these peaceful + pretty interior shots ...Skona hem
Aren't those beams fabulous?  And there's my dream chair.  White always seems to calm me.

Happy weekend!

[via skona hem -- which I don't understand a word of but it has fabulous photos -- + style files]

DrikaB

I've posted her work before + lately I've been seeing it all over the place but I just love it so much I wanted to share again ...Drikab Plus, I am now the happy owner of the top left wristlet. :]  With all my big purchases lately, I've put myself on a self-imposed spending freeze + started using Joslyn's list method [which works, btw!].  With the exception of this purchase.  I had a rough day yesterday + decided to treat myself.  Its amazing how a little Etsy makes you feel better. :]

things i'm *hearting*

Three things I'm hearting these days ...
Things i heart His chubby hands [I think the day those go away I'll be very sad], my new mouse pad from Shim + Sons, + Target for dresses like the above [forgot about my dress find + just added it ;]

i've been tagged

Danielle tagged me...here's my first go at participating in a tag!

What did you do 10 years ago?
I finished my last year in college in Rome, Italy.  I spent that summer putzing around Europe before I moved to Washington, DC for my first real job + I also met my husband-to-be that fall.   Pretty good year for me. :]

Five items on your to-do list:
-Finish announcements for baby Wyatt
-Plan/map out road trip to Chicago
-Get letterpress work area ready
-Finish cleaning out closets
-Shop for Monday dinner party + Tuesday playgroup

Snacks I enjoy:
I’m a HUGE snacker with a major sweet tooth [probably why I am unable to lose those last 5 lbs of baby weight].  I love candy, chocolate and pretty much any sweet baked good.  Cereal is a regular go-to snack too.

What would you do if you were a billionaire?
We'd retire [our families too], live somewhere fabulous [e.g. French Riviera], do the things we love [create, write, play, travel] + donate + volunteer lots.

Places I would live:

-Paris
-San Francisco
-Nantucket

Jobs I have had:
-Gymboree
-Tutor
-Bank teller
-Fundraiser
-Event planner
-Public relations director

Bloggers I am tagging who you will enjoy getting to know better:

-Julie and/or Lindsey [Coveiter]
-Sara [Miss Jane]
-Mary [South End Blend]
-Diana [Please Sir]

[The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.]

new banner?

I'm thinking its time for a new banner - at least for summer.  Can't decide ...New bannerYou know how I love my bright yellow but I'll probably have to change it up because its hard to read.  That font is also too hard to read, isn't it?  I'm leaning towards the photo but you probably also know I like very simple repeating patterns.  Anyhow, thoughts?  :]

EDIT: Ok -- I really need to change the font + the yellow.   Looking at it again, you can't even read it!  General thoughts/suggestions are still welcomed + appreciated!
