still out of commission

I'm so bummed about my computer.  At this point I'm trying to salvage files [lesson learned: back-up your files!] + hoping my computer will work in the end.  The Apple guys said my only hope was this software called WarriorDisk [and it actually does sound like that there's a little battle going on in my computer] to salvage my files + they said it could take hours OR DAYS!  Anyhow, I'll be out of commission for a few more days but thanks for the kind words + good vibes. 

Hope you're having a good weekend!   And hope those who are watching SATC this weekend enjoyed it.  I loooooved it!  I needed it after this computer debacle.

computer on the fritz

UGH.  My trusty Powerbook is on the fritz.  Never once have I had a problem with it, until today where it just won't go past the start-up screen.  I'm taking it to the Apple doctors tonight [before I catch Sex + The City --yahoo!].  In the meantime, I'll be using husb's laptop but will be out of comission for a bit.  I feel completely and utterly handicapped right now.  Please send your good vibes my way. :]

shop update

I've been working on a few things + will update my little shop [which has been sadly neglected this past month] with a few things ... 

I've got more chalkboard tags lined up as well as little note cards. I'm bringing back the library card but this time made them into birthday day + father's day cards.  And a few other goodies.  Hope to get them up in the next day or so.

I'm still trying to figure out the white balance on my slr.  If anyone has tips on shooting light colors/whites on a white background, I more than welcome them!

vintage goodies

I found a number of vintage goodies over the last week.  My favorites include this great old school desk (which is super sturdy) + some fun pennants for my little one's playroom ...

I also found a few goodies for myself...some big spools I'm putting my ribbon around, a lovely yellow crate for my envelopes + a great milk bottle ...

I usually don't score so many goodies...let alone all for under $100 (!), so as you can imagine, I'm quite pleased!

my heart wanders submission + new camera

I got my new camera this week [yay!] + have been obsessively playing with it.  I've come up with some submissions for the my heart wanders project.  Here's one of them [hopefully I'm not jinxing myself by posting here!]...with my love of twine + ribbon, I thought this was fitting ...
I'm soo loving my camera - even more than I thought I would + also really enjoying all the manual capabilities. 

[p.s. is it just me or do my photos look grainy on my blog but when you click on it, they're clear?  hmm...typepad, what's going on?]

excited for :: sex + the city

I have to admit I'm really looking forward to this movie ...
My sister, my closest friend + I are going to make a night of it opening night.  We're going to get dressed up, go for drinks + dinner + then enjoy the movie.  Can't wait for next Friday!

2008 national stationery show
